oh my GOD. Ok lets just talk about these real quick. In the first one, percy and annabeth are obviously a lot younger. Look at percy’s face, just look at it, he’s happy, he’s eager, he’s still a baby who gets to fight monsters and be a hero. Now look at annabeth, even though shes always been confident, she’s obviously going to have some abandonment issues, look at the way shes looking at percy, not in a “I need you to save me way” but in a “Ok  just double checking that you’re still here” way. Now look at older them, they look like a unitpercy is more serious now, he knows this isint all fun and games, he’s seen friends die, he knows what he;s up against. Annabeth has her typical calculating look in her eye, and motherfucker shes already figured out how to take you down. And she doesnt need to check to make sure percy’s still there. She knows he is. She knows he always will be.
